ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 (APP): Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination on Thursday received a briefing on the under-construction project of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
The PWD officials gave the briefing to the Committee that met here with Dr. Humayun Mohmand in the chair.
The committee expressed its displeasure on the pace of ongoing work in PIMS. The committee summoned the concerned DG of PWD to the next meeting.
The case of alleged fake courses by the University of Faisalabad was also discussed. The chairman said that the various technical degrees are being mixed with professional degrees.
He questioned the existence of any system of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) regarding the examination of such degrees.
The Chairman HEC informed that an allied council has also been formed to look into these matters. Senator Rubina Khalid said that a large number of laser treatment clinics are running.
The chairman committee said that students who bring medical degrees from foreign countries should also bring practice licenses from there.
