The Na
tional Electric Power Regulatory Authority (
NEPRA) on Wednesday approved surge of Rs 1.27 per unit in electricity prices.
A summary was sent to the federal government for notific
ation in this regard. Reports said that the surge in power price was going to put a burden of Rs 226 billion (bn) on consumers.
NEPRA sources stated, “Uniform Tariff wi
ll be charged from the consumers for a period of twelve months. The Uniform Tariff will also include subsidy.”
